FamilieLøftet is a course for parents with a minority background who are seeking support, knowledge, and a safe community around the parenting role in Norway. The course provides space for reflection, sharing experiences, and gaining new perspectives on family life, upbringing, and parenting in a new society.
Being a parent can be both rewarding and challenging, especially when navigating between different cultures, expectations, and systems. In FamilieLøftet, you will meet other parents with experiences that may be similar to your own, while also gaining knowledge, practical tools, and the opportunity to share thoughts and experiences in a safe and inclusive environment.
Throughout the course, we work with topics such as children’s rights, communication within the family, relationships, everyday life, school, society, and the parenting role in Norway. The sessions combine professional input with group discussions, exchange of experiences, and concrete examples from everyday life.

No prior knowledge is required, the goal is to strengthen confidence, coping, and a sense of agency in the parenting role, together with others.
FamilieLøftet consists of two courses:
MorsLøftet
A course for mothers starting in September 2026. The course focuses on topics such as motherhood, family life, children’s rights, relationships, everyday challenges, and participation in school and society.

FarsLøftet
A course for fathers starting in October 2026. This course places particular focus on the father’s role, responsibility, communication, and fathers’ participation in society.
Course dates: 19 October, 26 October, 2 November.
